Set up a GetIPProxy proxy chain in Clash Verge

Use a working Clash node to reach your GetIPProxy SOCKS5 proxy. This Clash Verge desktop guide shows how to import the edited local YAML, activate the chain, and check the exit IP.

On this page

1. Check your prerequisites

Make sure your existing node works on its own and you have the connection details for your GetIPProxy SOCKS5 proxy.

A working Clash node

Connect through the node to confirm it works, then copy its exact name from your configuration. You will use that name in the new proxy entry.

GetIPProxy connection details

In Dashboard → My Proxies, find the proxy address, port, username, and password you need for this configuration.

The values are hidden in this example. Use the details from your own proxy.

Keep your proxy username and password private. Do not share screenshots that show them.

2. Save an editable copy of your configuration

If your existing nodes come from a subscription URL, save the complete Clash/Mihomo YAML configuration as a local file before editing it. Keep the original subscription URL.

  1. Download the complete Clash/Mihomo YAML configuration from your provider, or ask the provider for it. A list of individual proxy links is not a complete configuration file.
  2. Save a local copy and open it in a text editor. Keep the existing nodes and other settings.

Your local copy will not update automatically when the subscription changes. If you download a new configuration later, add the GetIPProxy entry to that copy as well.

3. Add the GetIPProxy proxy to your configuration

Find the existing proxies: list and add the entry below at the same indentation level as the other proxies. Keep the existing entries, and do not add a second top-level proxies: key.

The GetIPProxy entry goes in the existing proxies: list. The proxy group shown below proxy-groups: is optional for rule mode and is not needed for the initial check in Global mode.

The lower red box shows an optional proxy group for rule mode. For your first test in Global mode, add only the entry under proxies:.

    server: "SOCKS5 代理地址"

    dialer-proxy: "YOUR_EXISTING_NODE"

Enter the SOCKS5 proxy address and port from My Proxies. Use a number for the port.

Enter your proxy credentials. If your proxy does not require authentication, remove both lines.
dialer-proxy
Replace YOUR_EXISTING_NODE with the exact name of your working Clash node. Mihomo uses that node to connect to the GetIPProxy proxy.

The configuration screenshot uses the old Simplified Chinese node name. Use “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)” from the YAML example; this is the name to select in the app.

Replace “SOCKS5 代理地址” with the SOCKS5 proxy address shown in Dashboard → My Proxies.

Import and activate the chain in Clash Verge

Save the edited YAML file before opening Clash Verge. The steps below use the Simplified Chinese interface shown in the screenshots.

Follow these steps in order. After importing, make sure your new local profile is the one in use.

The screenshots use a Simplified Chinese interface. Menu labels may differ by language or app version; select “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)” from your YAML.

  1. 4

    Open Profiles and click New

In the left sidebar, open Profiles (订阅), then click New (新建) at the upper right.

Clash Verge Profiles screen with the New button indicated at the upper right
  2. 5

    Choose the edited local YAML

Set Type (类型) to Local (本地). Give the profile a recognizable name, click Choose File (选择文件), select the YAML you just edited, then click Save (保存). Do not paste its path into the subscription URL field.

Create Profile dialog showing Local type, a YAML name, Choose File, and Save
  3. 6

Set the new profile to Use

Right-click the profile you added and choose Use (使用). Make sure this profile is active before continuing. Clash Verge copies the imported file; later edits to your original file will not update the imported copy.

Context menu on the newly imported Clash Verge profile with Use highlighted
  4. 7

Select Global mode and the chain

Open Proxies (代理), switch the mode to Global (全局), and select “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)”. Global mode sends traffic that reaches Clash Verge through the selected node.

  5. 8

    Turn on System Proxy

Open Settings (设置) and turn on System Proxy (系统代理). This lets browsers that follow your system proxy settings send their traffic through Clash Verge.

9. Check your exit IP

With the new profile in use, Global mode selected, the chain node selected, and System Proxy on, open an IP lookup site in your browser. The public IP should match the proxy IP in Dashboard → My Proxies.

Troubleshooting

The imported profile is visible, but the chain node is missing

Right-click the newly added local profile and choose Use. If the node is still missing, check the YAML indentation and confirm the entry is inside the existing proxies: list. After changing the file, import the updated YAML again.

The browser still shows the first-hop IP

Check that the new local profile is in use, Global mode is selected, “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)” is the active node, and System Proxy is on. Then reload the IP lookup page.

The chain node cannot connect

Test the first-hop node by itself. Then check the SOCKS5 address, port, username, password, and the exact node name in dialer-proxy.

My edits to the original YAML do not appear

Clash Verge uses a copy of the imported file. Save your changes, import the updated local YAML again, and set that profile to Use.

Optional: use a first-hop group or rule mode

Choose the first hop with a proxy group

The dialer-proxy value can refer to an existing select group instead of a single node. Do not let that group select “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)” or another group that routes back to it, or you will create a loop. Start with one working node.

Use the proxy in rule mode

Add “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)” to the select group used by your rules, then select it in that group. Global mode makes the first exit IP check simpler.

Common questions

Which IP address will websites see?

When you select “Clash Proxy Chain (GetIPProxy)”, websites see the GetIPProxy exit IP. The first-hop node connects to the GetIPProxy proxy.

Can I use a different Clash client?

This configuration works with clients that use a Mihomo core supporting dialer-proxy. The controls may differ, so use instructions for your client when available.
